It is important that qualified staff be involved in the installation, operation and maintenance of starter. Staff should be familiar with how the equipment will be used, limitations of the system and it's components, and hydraulic knowledge of good practice in terms of safety, installation and maintenance.
Start hydraulic system basically consists of:
1 Motor runs pump to recharge the battery
2 Unloading valve for diverting the flow of the pump tank when system pressure reaches
3 Manual start control valve to direct oil from the battery to the starter motor
4 Starter motor to drive the starter mechanism of the other objects in the hydraulic system is initially passive (ie tank, batteries, filters, etc. ).
For short term storage, the best procedure is to get the tank filled with oil.
For long term storage (internal or external), there are two possibilities:
- With a full tank of oil, remove the filler plug and seal the opening and the seal plate
- The tank is empty, spray inside the tank with a blend of rust inhibitor and seal plate and seal the opening. Be sure that the spray is directed into the corners and all sides of the tank.
the balance of the system should still be full of oil from the examination process and will require additional attention.
Reservoir Filling
S filler breather installed, fill the tank with hydraulic fluid filter basket for transferring oil from drums or other cart should be equipped with a 10 micron absolute elements (Beta 10 ratio of 75 or greater ).
Warning: Do not fill the tank when the batteries are filled with oil (filled ).
Check the pressure gauge to confirm that it reads zero psi. When the batteries are charged, the oil level in the tank should not be above the specified level. If in doubt, discharge the batteries by using the starter bypass valve, then fill the tank full indicator.
General Maintenance
Filter. Filters should be changed every six months
Tank: maintain proper oil level at all times. See the warning under the Reservoir filling.
Suggestions:
1 Set the filter to maintain a schedule and follow it diligently.
2 Do not go back to the system of any oil that leaked from the unit.
3 Always keep a supply of fresh liquid is covered tightly.
4 Use clean containers, pipes and chimneys when filling the tank. Use the filter basket when adding the liquid container.
5 Use common sense precautions to prevent entry of dirt into the container and components that are temporarily removed from the circle.
6 Make sure to clean everything out of the hole, filler caps, breather filter and the tank is properly fastened.
7 Do not run the system, unless everything is normal, provided filtration systems are in place.
8 Make sure the liquid is used or added to the system is a type recommended by the manufacturers of system components.
